Lyndon’s history begins in 1786 with a wedding gift granted to Alexander Bullitt and his new wife from his father-in-law. The plot of land would later be known as Oxmoor Farm home to Alexander Bullitt, one of the drafters of Kentucky’s constitution. The 200 acres was purchased by Alvin Wood in 1865. Wood began constructing what is credited as being one of the first subdivisions in Louisville. Wood, after realizing that people were settling along the Louisville and Frankfort railway tracks, decided to construct his own stop. With agreement from the L&N, Wood’s construction was named Lyndon and was made a stop on the St. Matthews railway in 1871. In that same year the town’s first post office was erected. The electric railway discontinued in 1934 after the preferred mode of transportation shifted to automobile. Lyndon still uses their railroads today and remains a tight knit community. Lyndon remains a part of the Louisville experience partaking in Derby fest and local bourbon tours. The neighborhood’s home architecture features mostly urban French colonial two-story homes.

I can honestly not say enough good things about Martin Crane. If you need a good Realtor, look no further! Martin Crane has to be one of the hardest working Realtors we have ever seen. We had contacted another Realtor prior to listing our home with Martin, but since she took an entire month off for vacation and was not available, we stumbled onto Martin's name while looking for property to build on.
