Built on a raised plot of land, Clifton received its name from its geographical location. If you time travel back to the 1800’s its beautiful architecture will be replaced by green farmland. The formal development Clifton’s residential area didn’t begin until construction in 1870, which lasted up until the 1930’s. The oldest surviving home is dated back to 1845. In this large period of expansion builders tried to keep the houses within the same Victorian style, making the streets more uniform. The residential areas of Clifton are much less dense than those of its sister neighborhoods, the Highlands and Butchertown. The neighborhood includes some brick streets and sidewalks and the small shops and restaurants of Frankfort Avenue. Clifton is also home to Louisville’s only printing house and school for the blind. Clifton is also near River Road and the Heigold House, a photogenic house front along the scenic route, originally constructed by a German immigrant in 1853. Clifton’s food scene is one of the most diverse and popular in the Louisville area.  Popular stops include, The Irish Rover, Fork and Barrel, Con Huevos, Varanese, and many other award-winning restaurants. This neighborhood is ideal for pets and has an exciting night life.

I can honestly not say enough good things about Martin Crane. Meredith Hamilton did a wonderful job facilitating the sale of our home, and we highly recommend her.  We had the daunting task of moving under a very short timeline, so we found ourselves needing to sell our house quickly.  Meredith held multiple open houses, provided guidance on staging, and found a buyer.  After a buyer was found, she managed the closing by providing advice, facilitating communication with the buyer, and ensuring there were no issues getting the sale over the finish line.  She exhibited patience and perseverance, not only securing the sale but also making it a pleasant experience.
